Prep for the Playoffs (PART DEUX)

Welcome to the second part of three installations of how to win that ever important week 1 of fantasy playoffs!

TRUST YOUR GUT, START YOUR STUDS AND DON'T CHANGE WHAT HAS ELEVATED YOU ABOVE THE REST!

Pretty straight up but many stray away from this. You didn't make the playoffs by flipping a coin, you trusted what you drafted even if they proved you wrong. Yeah players got hurt and others didn't live up to expectations, but you know who your play makers are and they should be in your lineup. Anything can happen during the final weeks of the NFL regular season. Teams clinch births to the post season while others throw in the towel and look to the future; and some just straight out quit "Thanks Bobby!"

Teams that are still in "the hunt" usually are the smartest players to stick with in week 1 of playoffs. Review each individual player's match up and see whom have the easiest time of getting in the end zone. Most teams are still playing for first round byes, home field advantage and even their own playoff spot, so week 15 isn't as difficult as the next. But with that being said; teams will sit their most important players if they run up the score in the first half. Look at last weeks game for the Colts. Peyton, Joesph Addai & Reggie Wayne all had great first halfs but only played the first series in the second as the score was way out of hand. The same can happen this week with them as they go into Oakland to play the lowly Raiders. The Silver & Black have even stated that their #1 Pick, Jamarcus Russell, will see playing time. Looks like the Raiders have already thrown in the towel! This is muddy water to seek clarity! You might want to think twice before starting your Colts OR you just "Start Your Studs" as they all put up great first half points. The Colts vs. Raiders game might not be the best example but it will easily explain the point at hand. Some have already gained their birth and the last thing they want to do is get someone banged up for the playoff push!

Be a "player site butterfly" and gather as much knowledge as possible. Your main players got you this far and it is very difficult to sit them even with a bad match up! TRUST YOUR GUT as usually you are right and DO NOT OVER THINK THINGS! This is tough to do especially since players like Terrell Owens and AD (All Day) Adrian Peterson really stunk it up in week 14. But they got you here, as your buddy's whine on the same league message boards you frequent as not to miss that last bit of important player updates.

One more section left before tomorrow night's lineups deadline and stay tuned for the last section, "Immediate starters from the waiver wire"...
